Your first memo

Open Memo and tap the record button. Memo starts listening straight away and keeps recording if you switch to another app or lock the phone.
Before the first recording, Memo asks which engine to use. On-device AI keeps everything on your iPhone. Cloud AI uploads the audio to Memo’s servers for processing and works on every iPhone in more than 99 languages. You can change the choice later, and Memo tells you what happens to the audio each time.
When you stop, Memo produces:
- a full transcript,
- a summary,
- a title and an emoji so the memo is easy to find,
- a chat where you can ask questions about what was said.
With On-device AI the results appear as the phone finishes them. With Cloud AI the memo shows a processing state while the upload and transcription run, and Memo can notify you when it is ready.
No account is needed for On-device AI. Cloud AI asks you to sign in with Apple or Google so that your memos are kept in your account.
